Generally we eat potato fry, bhindi fry, gobhi fry etc. but today for the change I prepared arbi fry. It is delicious in taste as well as crispy. Arbi is also known as Colocasia. Colocasia comes in roots and vegetable category. Arbi comes in low glycemic index food category. This vegetable has so many healing properties as well it’s easy to digest. Arbi is loaded with vitamins and minerals and it is rich in fiber also.

Dietitian in Mumbai says “arbi” vegetable is very beneficial for those, who has hypertension or symptoms of high blood pressure, because arbi contain very less amount of sodium and fat on the other side it is loaded with potassium and magnesium,these minerals helps in fluid retention. This helps to reduce the stress and pressure on arteries and blood vessels.

Preparation time – 20 minutes


Arbi (COLOCASIA) – 500 gm

Chilli powder–5 gm (as per taste)

Turmeric powder- a pinch

Salt – as per taste

Oil–20 gm (4 tsp)


1 – Peel and wash arbi cut into round slices.


2 – Take a pan heat the oil and fry arbi till it become brown and crispy as shown in the following picture.

3- Add chilli powder,turmeric and salt. Stir it.


4- Serve hot with rice/roti.
